What TSA says about traveling with a Tape Measure on a plane?
The TSA page dedicated to the rules for traveling with a Tape Measure says that it allowed to travel with it:
This rule says that you can travel with a tape measure in carry on and checked bags.
However, when someone asked the same question on “X” ( former Twitter ), AskTSA support confirmed that it is allowed but also said that it is considered as a tool, so it should not exceed 7 inches. Of course, we talk about tape measure when rolled up.
Good of you to ask, Howie. A tape measure and tools that are 7 inches or less are is allowed in carry-on bags.
