NOTICE: This article is intended for people traveling from or within the United States of America.
In fact, the information I’m presenting here is based on guidelines from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). It’s the agency that has authority over the security of the traveling public in the United States, and its rules apply whether you’re flying from or within the U.S.
What TSA says about traveling with a Corset on a plane?
First of all, there is no page dedicated to corsets on TSA website. In this case, we performed additional searches in social media support pages and found that it is allowed.
This is our findings about bringing corset on a plane:
- Corsets are allowed in carry-on bags even with metal boning and brassieres with underwires.
- Wearing a Corset through the screening process is allowed but additional inspections could happen
This is the interesting discussions we found on X.com :

1: You’re allowed to wear a corset through the security screening process. If your corset alarms on the screening technology, our officer will conduct a visual inspection and a pat-down.
