This may sound wrong but it is not ! In fact, TSA allows you to bring bones, whether they are human or animal, in carry-on or checked bags.
The question was asked on support page of TSA and the answer was clear : You are allowed to bring bones on plane.

In fact, the information I’m presenting here is based on guidelines from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). It’s the agency that has authority over the security of the traveling public in the United States, and its rules apply whether you’re flying from or within the U.S.
What TSA says about traveling with Bones on a plane?
First of all, there is no page dedicated to rules for travelling with ( real ) human bones on TSA website. In this case, we performed additional searches in social media support pages and found that it allowed .
@ih8twitte0r 1: Passengers are allowed to carry human or animal bones in carry-on and checked bags. If taken in a carry-on bag, the container holding the bones must pass through the X-ray machine and may require additional screening.
